The Cradle of Forestry in America Interpretive Association and USDA Forest Service are partnering to bring Pisgah Ranger District’s first BioBlitz, in honor of Pisgah’s centennial year. A BioBlitz is an event dedicated toward applying citizen science in order to identify as many species of flora and fauna in a designated amount of time in a defined area. Pink Beds valley is part of the Cradle’s 6,500-acre property and home to a diverse set of niches. As we celebrate Pisgah’s centennial year and National Public Lands Day, the Pink Beds BioBlitz (PBBB) will promote educational opportunities for schools and the public in a fun, outdoor setting. This is a free event, and will incorporate volunteers, field surveying, education and outreach, and more.
